Flooding of Tank bund

When I was very young there was a rumour one evening that the banks of Tank Bund, a big lake in Hyderabad, were giving way and that the water was going to flood the city. People were panicking somewhat. I remember activity late night where neighbors were discussing what to do. By the next day everything had dried up and things were back to normal.
